Shooting at Community College in Texas Injures at Least 3 People

THE CHRONICLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION.  JANUARY 22, 2013.  At least three people were injured on Tuesday in a shooting that locked down a community-college campus outside Houston, according to news reports. Lone Star College said in a Twitter messagethat the incident took place shortly after noon local time on its North Harris campus, and was the apparent result of an altercation between two people. The college later said that the campus had been evacuated and would remain closed for the rest of the day. Officials said two gunmen, one of whom is in custody, were believed to have been involved in the shooting. The other remains at large but is no longer believed to be on the campus. No details about the identities of those involved were immediately available.
