Scholarship Information for CAPPS Members

CAPPS To Begin Accepting Memorial Scholarship Fund Applications June 1, 2008

The CAPPS Memorial Scholarship Fund is a scholarship program established to honor the memory of two remarkable women who had an amazing impact on the proprietary school sector in California. Now in its third year the Fund has already provided $30,000 for students to further their education at CAPPS Member Schools.

All CAPPS Member Schools offering programs in Cosmetology/Massage/Esthetics or Allied Health disciplines should encourage their students to apply for these scholarships. Four scholarships in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded at the CAPPS Annual Conference (September 10-12, 2008 - Universal City, CA) to the four students - two in Allied Health and two in Cosmetology/Massage/Esthetics - chosen by the CAPPS Memorial Scholarship Fund Committee. To be eligible for one of the scholarships a student must be already enrolled in a cosmetology/massage/esthetics or allied health program at a CAPPS Member School. The deadline for all applications to be received in the CAPPS office is 5:00 pm on August 8, 2008.

CAPPS will honor the four students who win the scholarships at a special awards ceremony at the CAPPS Annual Conference. We ask that the Member School take responsibility for the logistical and financial considerations of student's travel to the conference.
